Brooks prevails in OT

In a battle of the two top teams in the Independent School League, Christie Donovan scored with one minute left in overtime to lift Brooks (12-1) over Governor's Academy 1-0. Sarah Freeman saved Brooks in overtime with a stop on the goal line and Carly Churchill stood out in goal with 12 saves.

North Andover used two goalies, Meg Foster and Steph Twomey in a 3-0 field hockey win over Pentucket and neither one had a save. Michelle Martin led the offense for the Knights (11-1-3) with two goals.

 Alie Moen converted a Sarah Warden cross with three minutes remaining to give the North Andover field hockey team (6-0-2) a 1-0 win over upset-minded Georgetown. Nikkie Perakis was immense for the Royals (2-4-2) with "at least 25 saves,'' according to Knights coach Courtney Breen.

According to North Andover head coach Courtney Breen, Amesbury's goalie subdued a persistent offense with a staggering 30 saves. But scoring machine Candace Waldie found the mark twice in the first half and that was enough to keep the Scarlet Knights unbeaten, 2-1 over the Indians. Allie and Gabby Moen had the assists on Waldie's scores.
