Freshman Travis Motsis scored his first varsity goal, which proved to be the game-winning in Whittier-Amesbury's 3-2 win over Pentucket-Georgetown. Freshman Tabor Smith assisted on the goal along with junior Tucker Holt, who earned his first varsity point with that helper. Junior Evan King (18 saves) withstood a late Pentucket enslaught to secure the win.

Andrew Bruno of Andover had a goal and an assist and Colin Langham made 33 saves as Brooks bested Governor's, 4-2.

Rick O'Connor scored three goals and Dan Rivet had three assists as North Andover cruised past Pentucket-Georgetown, 7-1.

Trailing by two goals heading into the third period, Pentucket exploded for five goals in the final frame to beat Masconomet 6-4. Joe Mangano and Ian Mitchell each scored twice for the Sachems.

HAVERHILL – North Reading had trouble finding the back of the net while losing its first four hockey games. But the Hornets have turned things around once they found their offense.

Junior Ian Mitchell recorded his first career hat trick as Pentucket pushed Lynnfield to the limits before falling 4-3. Sam Bomba made 31 saves for the Sachems.

Senior Tony Luvoulo and sophomore Zach Fitgerald each broke throgh with their first varsity goals as Whittier-Amesbury topped Pentucket, 5-1. Tabor Smith had a goal and two assists for the 2-1 Wildcats.

North Andover beat Pentucket-Georgetown 5-1 in the season opener for both. The Sachems tied it early but Knights’ tri-captain Mike Cusack scored 11 seconds later. Ryan Sweeney scored twice and the other North Andover goals were by Derek Hunter (shorthanded) and Ricky O’Connor. Ian Mitchell scored for the Sachems.

Seemingly in control with a 3-1 lead with less than seven minutes to play, Haverhill surrendered three goals in a 72-second stretch and lost to Triton. 4-3. Ernie Lupi had a goal and assist in the season-ending loss.

Fighting back from a pair of deficits, Mac Cavanaugh scored off a third-period feed from Ian Mitchell as Pentucket earned a 2-2 deadlock with Amesbury in consolation round play at the Newburyport Bank Tourney. Sam Bomba turned aside 21 shots for the Sachems.

The Mangano brother, Max and Joe, each netted a goal while Max also recorded an assist as Pentucket-Georgetown boys hockey tied Triton 4-4. Garrett Dubina netted one goal and added two assists. 

Eric Sokolski netted goals 9 and 10 of the year, adding an assist for North Reading in a 3-2 win over Triton. The Hornets now sit at 8-7-1, needing three points in their final four games to qualify.

Dave Messina, Ryan Sweeney and Ricky O'Connor had second-period goals for North Andover in a 3-3 tie with Newburyport.

North Reading entered with a 3-6-1 record and Newburyport was 7-1. But when the dust settled, the Hornets stunned the Clippers, 2-1, on two Cody Carbone goals. Freshman goalie Keith Linnane turned aside 21 shots. It was the first time in recent memory that North Reading had beaten Newburyport. Nobody on the team had done it and assistant coach Brian McAuliffe added he had never beaten them in his four years either.
