Royals fall in overtime

Despite a youthful roster, Georgetown made a big push to a postseason berth but fell to Westwood in the Division 3 East preliminary round in heartbreaking fashion, 9-8 in overtime. Westwood's defense rose to the occasion in the second half, allowing the offense to chip away at a five-goal Royals lead. Sophomore JoJo Mangano had a great day in the Georgetown net with 17 saves while freshman Mike Gochakowski led the offense with four goals.

Mike steps up

Filling a valuable scoring role, freshman Mike Gochakowski continued his strong season with a six-goal effort as part of Georgetown's 18-4 win over Nashoba. "He grew a little bit and worked hard during the off-season," said head coach Matt Bouchard. "He stepped up."

Georgetown's Ben Warren scored with 6 seconds left to tie the Royals' lacrosse game with Ispwich. He then scored the winner in overtime to lead Georgetown to a 8-7 victory. Warren scored four goals.

Warren not lax on production

Tri-captain Ben Warren stepped up big for Georgetown as his six-point effort drove an 11-7 lacrosse win over Triton. "He really controlled the tempo," head coach Matt Bouchard said. "Ben took a strong leadership role. I told him to settle the ball and control it and he did. This was his best game of the year without question."

Murphy lights the fuse

After a 1-0 first half, Jack Murphy ignited the North Andover offense with a pair of quick second-half scores leading to a 11-1 victory over Triton. Shane Wescott spurred a defensive effort that almost produced a shutout, getting ample help from Cody Young and John Boyle.

Cosmo Capobianco made 16 saves during North Andover's 6-4 win over Newburyport and eight of those saves came in the fourth quarter when the Knights scored four unanswered goals.  Jimmy Warden had a goal and three assists and Dante Querci had a pair of goals for North Andover (3-1).

Two pressure-packed goals earned Pentucket a 6-5 overtime victory over Arlington Catholic, setting the stage for a state tourney berth win a victory in its last game against Haverhill Thursday. Jeremy Krugh kept the Sachems alive by tying the contest with one second left in regulation. With 50 seconds left in the second OT period, Jay Duchanes took a feed from Alex Connolly and found the mark for the game-winner.
