Triton 112, Pentucket 32

Triton's Deanna Latham won three events — the long jump (17-4), triple jump (34-9), and 100 hurdles (15.3). Rachelle Bourque won two events — the shot put (33-2) and javelin (116-1) — for Triton (10-0). Tori Clay (400 hurdles, 1:12.1), Adele Kneeland (2-mile, 13:49), Ashley Pinette (discus, 106-8), Meredith McWeeney (100, 13.4), Colleen Loughlin (mile, 5:34), Brittany Caprio (400, 1:02.9), Hadley Crossman (200, 27.7), the 4x100 relay team of McWeeney, Crossman, Jordan Antonucci, and Latham (51.5), and the 4x400 team of Clay, Lauren Breen, Bethany Saunders, and Caprio (4:30) also placed first.

Records falling

Alison Pronovost won the 200 in 26.4, shattering the 17-year-old school record (26.8), and ran on the 4x100 relay team that broke its own week-old school record with a 51.5 as North Andover downed Pentucket 96-49. The Sachems also saw a school record fall, as Ellen Broz registered a 10-0 in the pole vault, breaking her own mark (9.6).

Hamilton-Wenham 101, Amesbury 44

The Amesbury girls lost their dual meet to a very strong Hamilton-Wenham team, 101-44.  Placing first for Amesbury were Alyssa Harrison (high jump), and Rebecca Crochiere in the (400m hurdles, 800m, and javelin).

Triton 101, Newburyport 44

Triton (9-0) clinched a share of the Cape Ann League title for the second consecutive season. The Vikings have won 22 consecutive meets, dating back to April of 2007.

Tori Clay, Colleen Loughlin, Brittany Caprio and Rachelle Bourque won two events each for Triton. Clay won the 400-hurdles (1:10.1) and triple jump (31-1). Loughlin placed first in the 2-mile (12:09) and mile (5:44). Caprio won the long jump (15-7) and 400 (1:03.5). Bourque finished first in the shot put (34-1) and the javelin (122-10). Sarah Murray (high jump, 4-8), Ashley Pinette (discus, 99-2), Meredith McWeeney (100, 13.6), the 4x100 relay team (54.7) of McWeeney, Taelour Murphy, Lauren Robert, and Becca Moore; and the 4x400 team (4:35) of Bethany Saunders, Lauren Breen, Jenna Norton, and Clay earned first-place finishes.

 Ellen Broz's 10-0 pole vault jump led the way for the Sachems. Triton's Deanna Latham won four events — breaking school records in two events (long jump, triple). She also finished first in the 100 (12.4) and 200 (27.0). Rachelle Bourque also set a school record (shot put, 35-6). Ashley Pinette (discus, 100-5), Ashley Matthews (pole vault, 8-0) and Vanessa Short (110-hurdles, 18.6) also placed first for the Vikings (5-0).

 The Amesbury girls lost both ends of their tri meet.  Losing to North Reading by a score of 98 to 47 and falling to Masco107 to 39.  Placing first for Amesbury were Rebecca Crochiere 400m hurdles, and 800m run, Chelsea Kolenda discus, Courtney Ouellet pole vault, and Catherine Fortuna high hurdles.

Sachems salvage split

Pentucket girls track fell to Masco, 84 1/3-60 2/3, but the Sachems were able to salvage a split with an 86-56 victory over Wilmington. Sarah Pearsall (shot put and discus), Andi Attenasio (high jump and 4x400 relay), Alanna Poretta (mile and 4x400) and April O'Brien (800 and 4x400) all registered a pair of first-place finishes.

The Amesbury girls were unable to score a win in a tough duel meet against North Andover (119-26) and Ipswich (89.5-53.5) yesterday. Danielle Sylvester (2 mile; 13:33), Alyssa Harrison (high jump; 5'0"), Rebecca Crochiere (800 - 2:32; 400 hurdles - 69.5) and Kristin Kozacka (discus; 69' 9.5") all competed well and earned first place finishes.
