Joseph Kruy won both the dash and the hurdles as part of Phillips' easy tri-meet victory over The Governor's Academy and Tabor Academy.

With a depth-driven 45-41 victory over previously unbeaten Newburyport, North Andover locked up at least a share of the Cape Ann League boys track title. The Knights can win it outright if they beat a one-loss Masconomet squad in their last league meet Saturday.

Michael Frasco pulled off a grueling double dip, winning the 2-mile (10:48) and mile (4:51) as Phillips scored 144 to blast the competition at a quad meet.

Phillips pounded Governor's behind double winners Patrick Wolber, Joseph Kruy and Michael Garai.

Newburyport remained unbeaten by nipping North Andover, 46-40. The Clippers (9-0) sewed it up before the relay. The Knights also raced Manchester Essex, and won big, 75-11. Greg MacArthur and Jim Quinlan went 1-2 in the 1,000 (2:48.4, 2:48.6) vs. both teams to lead the Knights.

Newburyport improved to 5-1 with a win over North Reading as Kyle LeBlanc (55m, shot put), Sean Hickman (2-mile), Tom Svirsky (300), Tyler Stotz (high jump), Thayer Adsit (600), and Greg Englehart (1000)

Triton got a solid win over Lynnfield as Billy Tindle (hurdles and high jump), Andrew Buckless (2-mile), Tony Mirandi (600), Zach Peabody (1000), Nate Shelter (mile), Nate Allard (shot put), and the 4x400 relay team of Adam Jones, Jared White, Buckelss, and Peabody all picked up first place finishes.

Kevin Johnston (40) and Stephen Levarity (shot put) each picked up first place finishes for Amesbury, despite the Indians loss to Hamilton-Wenham.

 Amesbury got its first tie of the year against Lynnfield. Mike Dragonas (high hurdle), Kevin Johnston (40), Alex Tamburello (2-mile), Patrick Fuller (1000), Peter Siess (mile), Matt Kilmartin (shot put), and the mile relay team of Jeff Fortuna, Dragonas, Johnston, and Tamburello all had first place finishes for the Indians.

The Clippers posted their first victory over Masconomet in school history. They trailed by three points with the high jump, mile and mile relay remaining before placing first and second in both individual events and first in the relay.

Kevin Johnston set a track record at Ipswich in the 40 with a time of 4.66 to take home Amesbury's only first place finish. Mike Dragonas (hurdles), Alex Tamburello (2-mile), Dan Sanderson (600), Peter Siess (mile), and Matt Kilmartin (shot put) all had second place finishes.
