Beau Cassidy knocked down six 3-pointers en route to a 31-point night as the Pinkerton boys basketball team topped Manchester Memorial, 77-72. Pinkerton, now 3-0 overall, had a trio of players in double digits as Colby Verge and Scott King scored 11 points a piece.

Katherine Harris drained two of the Pinkerton girls basketball team's nine 3-pointers to lead the Astros to a 63-36 win over Manchester Memorial.

It was a wild final 40 minutes for Pinkerton and Manchester Memorial, but a four-goal second half gave the Astros a 4-2 win and secured the school's third trip to the New Hampshire Class L final in the past four years. Mark Mangini (2 goals, assist) and Mike Wanelik (goal, assist) led the way for the Astros, while Kenny Kolbeck and Marc Siragusa also played particularly well.

Girls soccer

Thanks to the continued solid play of the back - including Caitlin Peters, Hanna LaRochelle, Mackenzie Miller and Sarah Viehl - the Salem girls soccer team defeated Manchester Memorial 2-0 to advance to the Class L semifinals. Liz Edgerton netted the game's first goal on an assist from Peters, and Kayla Provenzano put an insurance tally away in the second half on a nice corner kick that she bent in.

No. 5 Pinkerton fell to No. 12 Manchester Memorial 3-2 in the first round of the Class L tournament. The Astros had blanked Memorial 2-0 in the regular season, and with the loss finished the year 13-4.

LONDONDERRY, N.H. — Three yards and a cloud of dust this wasn’t.

Londonderry threw only one pass during the entire game — a 28-yard scoring strike from Conor McKinney to Kevin Hale — while pounding Manchester Memorial, 55-35 last night.

With its 4-0 win over Manchester Memorial, the Pinkerton boys soccer team cruised to its 11th win of the season to remain undefeated. Aaron Earle netted a pair of goals and Kyle Gundrum had a goal and an assist. Chris Doyle (three saves) recorded the shutout in net.

Caitlin Peters scored on a 30-yard free kick to lead Salem past Manchester Memorial. The well-struck ball deflected off the goalie's hand and into the top left corner of the net.

Timberlane fell to Manchester Memorial 3-2. Katie Matatall and Anne-Marie Britton each racked up five kills in a losing effort. Christine Robichaud had 15 assists.

SALEM, N.H. — Salem head coach Jack Gati challenged his running backs after a disappointing performance last week against Londonderry, and his players responded. The Blue Devils rushed for 431 yards and trounced Manchester Memorial, 65-20 at Grant Field.
