Sophomore Sarah Ratcliffe had her third home run in three games, a three-run shot in the first, and added two doubles to account for seven RBIs as Pelham outlasted Bow 15-8. 

Chad Desautels scored twice as Windham boys hockey won 5-3 over Bow to earn a trip to the Division 2 semifinals at 7:30 p.m. in Exeter on Wednesday.

Patrick Higgins, Jack Crowley and Nolan Cunningham added goals for the Jags.

After several years as a co-op team with Pelham, Windham hockey is making its debut season. The Jaguars showed they are more than up to the challenge by opening with a 3-1 win over defending Division 2 state runner-up Bow. Patrick Higgins, Chad Desautels and Domenic Bruzzese scored. Christian Bassi had 29 saves.

Brendan Winch fired a complete-game, 3-hit shutout as Bow ousted Pelham 7-0 in the Division 3 quarterfinals. Ryan Frank had two hits and Mike Pelletier one for the Pythons.

Senior Jordan Parece threw a one-hitter, striking out what coach Todd Lozeau says may be a school record 17 batters, as Pelham opened its season with a 4-1 victory over Bow. Freshman Sarah Ratcliffe was the offensive star, going 2 for 3 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored.

Jackson Morton exploded for 33 points, leading Sanborn past Bow 65-58. Morton scored a career-high 44 points a season ago.

PELHAM — Just over two months ago, Pelham and Bow opened their seasons with a 7-0 thriller won by the Pythons.

Since that game, both teams ran off undefeated seasons, setting up another matchup in the Division 3 South conference championship/state quarterfinals yesterday afternoon.

Behind a sparkling 71 by Jake Vaiknoras, Pelham took second at the New Hampshire Division 3 championship with a 337, behind just No. 1 Bow (301).

"That is the best finish Pelham has ever had," said Pythons coach Joe Vaiknoras. "We were third last year and graduated three of our top four guys. So they are just thrilled."

Courtney Sweeny had the hat trick, Rachel Rogers added two goals and Natalie Boyd and Fallon Golden starred on defense as Windham field hockey ripped Bow 6-0.
