The Methuen boys lacrosse team won its first game of the year beating Saugus 12-9. Shane Garon had four goals for the Rangers, and Sean Nickerson, Garrett Watson, Jason Moynihan and Dan O'Connell all scored two goals each.

North Andover's hockey team ended a tough season on a high note by scoring five goals in the third period to down Saugus 5-2. Junior Zach Martino scored twice for the Knights (5-13-3) while Riley Eckles and Alex Martino both had a goal and an assist

Maya Spence poured in 22 points, including netting three 3s, to lead Georgetown girls basketball 64-48 over Saugus. 

Surprising Georgetown won four more meets, the closest being 42-39 over Gloucester, to improve to 11-3. Constantine Galanis remained unbeaten (21-0) and had four pins on the day while Henry Gorrell also went 4-0. Among those going 3-0 were Matt and Mark Mansfield.

Justin Winn ran for three TDs and passed for another as Saugus beat North Reading 24-13.

North Reading's volleyball team cristened its new gymnasium in style with a 3-1 victory over Saugus. Jess Lezon had nine kills and two blocks for the Hornets and Amanda Catania had 19 service points, including seven aces.

Brianna Rivera shined in Lawrence softball's 13-7 loss to Saugus, smashing a three-run homer.

Pat Slack allowed just one earned run and struck out seven in an eight-inning complete game, but Georgetown suffered a tough 2-1 extra inning loss to Saugus.
