Timberlane added another chapter to its storybook season when it exploded for 10 third-inning runs, en route to yesterday's 15-3 win over Keene.
The Owls (9-4) did all of its third-inning damage with two outs.
"You can be around baseball for 25 years and not see something like this, but when it happens it is a lot of fun," said Timberlane head coach Jamie Fish, who watched his team collect seven of its 12 hits in the desisive third.
Ryan McCarthy (2 for 3) and Jake Cameron (2 for 3) each had two hits in the inning as the Owls bashed out three doubles in the inning.
"It was just a combination of walks and hits," said Fish.
While the offense was having it way, Jake Damphousse was quietly working his way towards his sixth win of the spring (now 6-0). The sophomore scattered seven hits over six innings and struck out fou.
"Damphousse being 6-0 has been a big part of our success," said Fish. "He is a smart kid, he is poised and he doesn't get rattled."
The Owls added some insurance with two in the fifth and three more in the sixth. Justin Bundzinski also had two hits.
"We have been very solid," said Fish. "Offensively. we are up and down. Pitching and defense is somethig we can hang our hats on.
We are making the outs that we have to make and that is huge. When you aren't giving extra runs, you are going to win games.
