Andover senior Tricia Martin had a day for the record books yesterday in an improbable 11-9 victory over Chelmsford.
Martin crushed three home runs, including a three-run blast to win the game with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, was 5 for 5 overall and knocked in seven runs.
"They were all bombs way out there," said Andover coach Stephanie Ragucci of the homers. "I've had some good hitters, but I don't think I've ever had someone have a day like this."
Martin's last homer capped a tremendous rally by the Warriors (1-3), who trailed 8-1 in the fifth and scored six runs in the bottom of the seventh with two outs. Jeanette Doucette chipped in with three hits and two RBIs and both Meg McCarthy and Alex Strock also had two hits.
