ROCHESTER, N.H. | The 2007 season already has been a roller-coaster ride for Timberlane.

The Owls, who were punished, 48-8, in their opener last week vs. Division 1 Salem, made their Division 2 debut a pleasant one by hammering Spaulding (0-2, 0-1 Division 2), 42-0.

The Owls' speed was evident as the average length of their six touchdowns was nearly 35 yards. James Dionne (21, 27) and Derek Furey (23, 17) each scored on two long runs.

Dionne, a speedy junior, showed his 11.3 100-meters speed, by gaining 234 yards on just 15 carries. Everybody got into the long-TD action capped off by Luke Ouellette scoring on his one carry of the night, a 90-yard jaunt.

"I'm really proud of our kids," said Timberlane coach Mike Pariseau. "They really rebounded after getting spanked last week. We needed this."

Timberlane is at defending Division 2 champion Bishop Guertin on Friday.
