Odds and ends: Brooks returns starting running back Jordan Johnson, who rushed for over 180 yards in a game twice last season. ... Big Patrick Lahey is headed to Dartmouth. He's a senior prefect, one of two heads of the senior class. ... Robert Perryman, who missed last season with a broken ankle, "could be a sleeper for somebody,'' said coach John Quirk. "He's our best all-around skill guy. He was a skinny, goofy kid as sophomore but he's strong and fast now." His father, ex-Patriots fullback Robert Sr., is an assistant coach. ... New coach Bill Strout is a friend of the Laheys. He had coached previously at St. John's Prep. ... Brooks will face three of the top four predicted teams in the 16-team ISL in the first three weeks in BB&N, Belmont Hill and Governor's Academy.

Coach John Quirk (4th year, 6-18): "I think we're going to be pretty good. We have a lot of guys back. Have some depth. We have explosive backs in Robert Perryman and Jordan Johnson and we're big up front with Patrick Lahey, Frank Conway, Guy Landers and Aaron Stanley.. On defense, Johnson and Landers makes it go. Our starters are pretty good but we don't have a ton of depth. We've been middle of road but the last two years we've been weak. I think we're a good team."
