Odds and ends: Tim Lira is hoping to play at a Division 3 school. Mike Hatton doesn't figure to get worn down. He placed 20th in the state decathlon last spring. ... Jon Travers is an Eagle-Tribune All-Star in the 4x100 relay in track. ... Kevin Zambrano, the youngest member of the athletic Zambrano clan, is heavily involved in student government. ... The No. 13 Owls took No. 4 Londonderry to the final minute of the teams' playoff meeting. The Lancers scored with 44 seconds remaining to win 1-0.

Coach Bill Mealey (2nd year, 5-10-2): "I think we're stronger than last year. Last year's playoff game proves it doesn't matter where you're seeded. Honestly, this is by far the most talented, best character team we've had in a while. We don't have that one superstar or two superstars that a Londonderry or a Pinkerton have. Nick Smith, Jon Travers, Kevin Zambrano, Tim Lira; I think all four guys have a chance to score a lot of goals."
