Phillips beat Cushing, 16-4, in a nine-inning game. Tommy McAndrews of Haverhill threw out two runners, scored a run and drove in a run, Matt Sapienza of North Andover had a run and an RBI and Jack Penney scored three times in the win.

Samantha Dewey erupted for 29 points as top-seeded Brooks rolled past Cushing 79-52 in the NEPSAC Class B first round. Sydney Robinson added 14 points for Brooks, which next hosts Proctor Academy on Saturday (time TBA).

North Andover's Brooke Cordes scored a game-high 20 points to pace Brooks to its fourth win of the season, 55-35 over Cushing.

With runners on first and second with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, North Andover's Tristan Latham singled in North Andover's Sam Conte to give Phillips the 4-3 walkoff win over Cushing.

Sophomore Brooke Cordes of North Andover shined again for the Brooks basketball team, scoring a game-high 19 points to lead her squad to a win over Cushing Academy, 50-24.

ANDOVER — Larkin Kemp hauled in two touchdown passes and collected 237 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough for Phillips to get into the win column, as they fell short on a 33-20 decision to Cushing.

ASHBURNHAM — Robert Jones three for 249 yards and two touchdowns and added 74 yards and two more scores on the ground to pace Phillips in a 32-22 victory over Cushing Academy.

"We played sloppy in the first half," said Phillips coach Leon Modeste. "But we played much better in the second half. Our defense did a great job of keeping us in it until the offense came around."

The Phillips Academy girls hockey team held Cushing to 16 shots in a 3-0 win. Charlotte Welch had two goals and an assist for the Big Blue, who improved to 14-7-2.

Sophomore Ellie Cordes of North Andover scored 15 points with five 3-pointers for Brooks in a 66-48.
