Leadoff batter Hannah Paitchell had three more hits, scoring twice and driving in a run, to lift her batting average to .500, as Pelham clipped Windham 7-5 in a battle of two teams battling to qualify for the tournament. Jordan Parece threw a three-hitter for the win and helped her own cause with two hits and two runs scored.

Colin comes fourth

With a home playoff game as a big goal, Colin Gerstenberger stepped up as part of a fourth-quarter explosion that earned Windham lacrosse a key 9-4 victory over Kennett. In only his fifth game at attack, the senior sparked a seven-goal Jaguar blitz with his three-goal, three-assist effort. "Colin did a great job finding open guys with passes," said head coach Joe Young.

With Windham's softball team clinging to a 5-3 lead with a St. Thomas runner on base in the seventh inning, Jaguars' center fielder Cailyn Costa went deep to make a nifty catch and threw it back to the infield for a double play to end the game. Emily Comtois led the offense with three hits and two RBIs.
