Read More »Senior captain Lexie Corso was a thorn in pitcher Julianne Meehan's side with three hits, but no other Masconomet hitters could break through as Pentucket avenged an opening-day loss with a vengeance, 10-0. Meehan had 10 strikeouts on the day and added a double offensively as did sisters Bernadette and Mary Kate Corrado. The Sachems now need just one more victory in their last three games to qualify for state tourney play.

Leadoff hitter Sara McCarthy, also a sophomore, had three hits and scored three times while junior Gwen Vozeolas drove in three runs with her pair of singles. Eight of the Knights' 11 hits were delivered by underclassmen.
