Goals from Alex Thomas and Hannah Guzzi in the final four minutes of play broke open a tie game and sent top seed Phillips to a 4-2 victory over No. 8 Milton Academy in Class A quarterfinal play yesterday.

Underclassmen drove Phillips' girls soccer team to a 5-0 victory over Thayer Academy. In a rare start, sophomore Zoe Chazen stepped up with two goals in the opening nine minutes of play. Classmate Hannah Guzzi rang up her first career hat trick and junior Piper Curtis of Andover was a sparkplug in Phillips' shutout effort.

Phillips scored off of a corner kick with 12 minutes left to play to beat The Governor's Academy, 1-0.

Sophomore Hannah Guzzi's second straight two-goal game led Phillips to a 3-0 soccer victory over Choate. Center back Piper Curtis of Andover excelled in the Big Blue's second shutout in a row, pushing Choate's top scorer away from the net and limiting her effectiveness in the process.

Freshman striker Alex Thomas spurred the offense with two goals and junior center back Piper Curtis had a phenomenal game on the defensive end as Phillips clobbered BB&N in soccer, 7-2.
