Pinkerton earns revenge against Londonderry

Pinkerton coach Casey Kesselring wasn't sure revenge was the right word, but there was no question his team's win yesterday was a little extra special.

One season after Londonderry shocked then-No. 2 seed Pinkerton in the Division 1 quarterfinals, the top-seeded Astros earned that revenge on their Mack Plaque rivals with a 6-3 victory over the No. 8 Lancers, once again in the Division 1 quarterfinals.

If not for the other-worldly play of freshman goalie Connor Simpson, Londonderry could have easily blown out Bow, but the Lancers converted enough to win 4-2 and make the Capital City Classic finals tonight against Dover. Senior Stephen Devereaux continued to excel as Londonderry's "best, most consistent two-way player" according to coach Peter Bedford.

Astros down rival Lancers

With an electric atmosphere charged up by the 500-plus fans in Hooksett's Ice Den, Pinkerton surged to a 6-1 lead then held on to beat rival Londonderry, 8-4. Steve Devereaux (two goals) sparked a three-goal third-period Lancer run to draw close, but sophomore Brendan Phillipon's third of four goals locked up the win.
