Pentucket senior Alex Demeule couldn't keep up with Newburyport star Nick Carleo Wednesday afternoon, but he had a spectacular race nevertheless. Carleo was first in a course record on the 2.95-mile Pipestave course, with a super 15:21 to pace the Clippers' 22-37 victory, but Demeule was runner-up in an excellent 16:06, which also broke the old record.
