Good luck charm helps Londonderry edge Central

Just like the Red Sox, Londonderry has its own good luck hawk that patrols the field at Lancer Park.

Last night it showed up just in time to help the sixth-seeded Lancers pick up a 3-2 comeback win over No. 11 Manchester Central in the first round of the Class L tournament.

Londonderry pounds out win

Londonderry pounded out 13 hits on the way to beating Winnacunnet 12-6. Sean Caron was 2 for 4 with four RBIs, Robbie McLarney drove in three runs and Geoff Fisher and Chris Crutcher each notched two RBIs.

Londonderry beats Pinkerton

Sean Caron delivered a two-run single as Londonderry closed with a rush, plating six in the seventh inning to best Pinkerton, 9-1. Caron had three hits and three runs driven in for the Lancers (7-3), helping winning pitcher Chris Crutcher, who tossed six innings of five-hit ball. Joe Guidi had three of the Astros' six hits and drove in their lone run.

Londonderry drop pitchers dual

Londonderry fell to Nashua South 1-0. Jake Finnegan shined, fanning six and allowing four hits and just one walk in the complete-game loss. But Finnegan was out-dueled by University of Maine-bound A.J. Bazdones, who struck out 10 and allowed five hits and two walks. Chris Crutcher was 1 for 2 with a walk for the Lancers.

Londonderry wins opener

Scott Worth had an RBI double and scored a run as Londonderry edged Merrimack 4-3 in its season-opener. Though Londonderry batters struck out five times in the first two innings, they settled down and recorded 10 hits for sophomore starter Jake Finnegan. Finnegan worked four innings and surrendered two runs, one earned, and fanned six batters. Brian Finnegan (one RBI) and Sean Caron (one run) each had two hits in the game.
