Amazing Season

Georgetown's Thomas Lane, in his final Phillips Andover appearance, poured it on Phillips Exeter as the Big Blue rolled, 7-3, to finish the year at 16-5.
Lane, who earned the save with five innings of shutout ball, fanning 10, finished his season at 7-0 with three saves, allowing a mere two earned runs all year.

Georgetown's Thomas Lane (7 ip, 1er, 2bb, 6k) dominated Tabor to move to 7-0 on the year and power Phillips Academy into the Central New England Prep title game with a 4-1 win. Unfortunately, the Big Blue fell in the title game to Worcester Academy, 11-4.

Pitching, pitching, pitching

Phillips Andover flaunted its pitching might in a doubleheader sweep of rival Phillips Exeter. Georgetown's Thomas Lane needed but 80 pitches to dispatch Exeter in the opener, a 3-hitter with five strikeouts. Taylor Beckett had a pair of RBI hits in a 3 for 3 game. Jake Nelson fanned 11 of the first 13 batters he faced and didn't allow a run of six innings in the nightcap, a 4-3 Andover win.

Big Blue sweep

Georgetown's Thomas Lane allowed just a single run in the early game and Jake Nelson and Matt Hosman combined for a shutout in the later game as Phillips swept a doubleheader from NMH, winning 7-2 and 4-0.
