Owls lose closer

ROCHESTER — Timberlane's long season came to a rough close with a 38-21 loss to previous-winless Spaulding Friday night.

The Owls (1-8) opened the scoring when Dan Hayes hit David Pica for a 31-yard touchdown, but Souhegan (1-8) scored the next 22 points. Shane Johnson and Antonio Pallaria also scored for the Owls.

Lovett stars but Winnacunnet wallops Owls

PLAISTOW — Timberlane had no answers for Winnacunnet (6-2), which snapped a two-game losing streak with a 56-8 romp. Cameron Lovett was one of the bright spots for the Owls (1-7). The junior caught four passes for 41 yards and the Owls' lone score, a 27-year pass from Sean Rudd. Timberlane will wrap up its season Friday at Spaulding (7 p.m.).
