Sachems sneak by

The Pentucket field hockey team eeked out a tight 2-1 win over Amesbury, getting the winner from Janet Dickens with just over two minutes to play in the game. Dickens scored both of Pentucket's goals, but Amesbury was led by goalie Sydney Calderwood, who made 15 saves on the day and stood tall despite facing 17 corners. Pentucket has now won six in a row.

Sachems qualify

The Pentucket field hockey team punched its ticket to the state tournament, beating Triton 2-0 to improve to 9-4-1 on the year. Lily Meyer and Clara Dore scored Pentucket's goals, both of which were assisted by Jacqui Cloutier, and Annika Ellis made five saves for the shutout. The win was also Pentucket's fifth in a row after hovering around the .500 mark near the season's midpoint.

Pentucket's leading scorer, Jacqui Cloutier, scored twice as the Sachems won their fourth straigh game in field hockey, improving to 8-4, with a 3-1 victory over Newburyport.

Back over .500

The Pentucket field hockey team got back over .500 for the season by beating North Reading 2-0. Jacqui Cloutier and Janet Dickens each scored for the Sachems, and Meghan Bean and Meg Freiermuth tallied the assists. Pentucket is now 5-4-1 overall.

Sachems dominate

Pentucket field hockey put forth a dominant showing against Amesbury, winning 6-0 to improve to 4-3-1 on the year. Jacqui Cloutier and Meghan Bean each scored two goals and Clara Dore and Janet Dickens also scored. Amesbury goalie Sydney Calderwood made 12 saves in the loss.

Under the lights

The Triton field hockey team got off to a terrific start, beating rival Pentucket 2-0 under the lights on Thursday night. Gianna Conte had a goal and an assist, Caitlyn Roberge scored in the second half and goalie Bridget Sheehan posted a shutout. Pentucket also played well in the loss, and Annika Ellis made four saves for the Sachems.
