Krohto takes Division 4 title

Pentucket's Madi Krohto delivered a stellar day, winning the high jump with a 5-4 and taking third in the 55 hurdles (8.91) at the Division 4 State Track Meet on Sunday. The Sachems took third as a team (31 points).

MVP times two

The Pentucket girls (69) placed second to North Reading (78.5) at the CAL Meet. Sachem winners were Madi Krohto (high jump), Syeira Campbell (school record 42.88 300 meters) and the 4x200 team of Krohto, Campbell, Emily Rubio and Kaley Enright. Krohto was named the Kinney Division MVP and meet MVP.

Sachems break record

The Pentucket girls track and field team placed an impressive second at the Division 4 State Relays with 31 points. The Sachems took a first in the 4x200, with the team of Emily Rubio, Madi Khroto, Syeira Campbell and Kaley Enright finishing in 1:50.08. The highlight of the day, however, might have the fourth-place shuttle dash relay team of Rubio, Kinneal Dickens, Campbell and Enright that broke the school record in 25.94. The old mark was 26.01.

Sachems deliver 1st

Led by a first from Madi Krohto in the 55-meter hurdles (8.93), the Pentucket girls track and field team won the Team Pentathlon with 3,155 points, edging out South Hadley (3,139). Emily and Phoebe Rubio, Kaley Enright and Clara Dore all placed for the Sachems. In the MSTCA Speed Classic, Syeira Campbell broke her own school record in the 300 (42.32).

Syeira Campbell won the 300 in 43.04 to highlight Pentucket's day at the MSTCA Winter Festival. Madi Krohto added a third in the 55 hurdles (9.13).

Sousa's quick feet

Olivia Sousa took first in two events as Newburyport girls track beat Masconomet 60-31 on Saturday. Sousa won the 300-meter dash (44.42) and the high jump 4-8. Other winners included Julia Tribastone in the 55-meter dash (7.59), Melaina Lucci in the hurdles (10.12), Lindsey Roberts in the 2-mile (13:09.87), Liberty Palermino in the 600 (1:43.85), Lucy Gagnon in the 1,000 (3:13.87) and Samantha King in the shot put (29-1 3/4).
