two late goals: down 0-2. Frank Freedman, senior outside midfielder. Chris Horne senior left outside midfield (first varsity goal).

Fishermen, 1-1. all season, we've been in every game. Swampscott we had a goal called back, they would have been the champions. missed a PK in the first half. that's kinda the way our season has been, missed three penalties. 3-5-7, +1 goal differential. 3-6-9, -2. we've been competitive in every game, we've tied a lot of teams that are going to the tournament. taken a lot of teams to the brink. results haven't gone our way.

With nothing to play for but pride, the Fishermen (3-6-9 overall, 3-5-7 in the NEC) saved one of their finest performances of the season for the last game. Most impressively, Gloucester was down 2-0 on the road in the second half before making its comeback.

1-1 Marblehead-Gloucester, knocks them out of the tourney.

senior striker Frank Taormina, assisted from senior striker Alex Trotsky. Gloucester was up 1-0 in the first half, halfway through first half. they scored on own goal, skimmed head of player, hit post and hit another the player.

Gloucester 1, Marblehead 1

After losing to Marblehead 3-0 in their first meeting of the season, the Fishermen (3-6-8) had a better result this time around but it wasn't the win they needed to keep their tournament hopes alive. Gloucester has two more games and they had to win out to qualify for the tournament.

missed a lot of chances, bulk of play. weren't able to score. Fishermen (3-6-7). win them all. Marblehead on Tues., Swampscott, Danvers.

 Sweeper Brett Davis, winning everything in air, big help. stopper Massimo Delisi helped them out, Alex Trotsky played up top.

Gloucester 0, Saugus 0

The Fishermen (3-6-7) had their share of chances at home but couldn't find the back of the net. Senior sweeper Brett Davis and senior stopper Massimo Delisi did a good job winning everything in the air and keeping the middle clear. To make the tournament, Gloucester now faces three must-win games, starting with at Marblehead on Tuesday.

Gloucester 2, Saugus 0

The Gloucester boys soccer team picked up a much needed win in their quest for a state tournament berth 2-0 over Saugus.

Jeff Amero and Frank Freedman scored the Fishermen goals in the 45 and 55 minutes respectively. Chase Kelly and Lucas DaSilva combined on a shutout for the Fishermen (2-5-5)

Gloucester (1-5-5) continued to be snakebitten as they outshot Revere 20-6 but had to settle for the tie at Newell Stadium. Senior center midfielder scored Alex Trotsky scored off an assist from junior striker Chris Peritore.

Every point is vital these days for the Fishermen (1-4-4) and they came back from down two goals at home to tie the Rams. Frank Taormina scored in the 50th minute from Chris Peritore while teammate Alex Trotsky tied it up four minutes later off an assist from Jeff Amero.

Paulo Lopes scored Gloucester's lone goal on a penalty kick, which was set up by Alex Trotsky. Anthony LaRocca also played well for the Fishermen (1-4-3) in the loss.
