Trailing by two runs with two outs in the bottom of the eighth, Pinkerton rallied for three runs to nip Nashua North 9-8. Kasey Marraffa, who earlier had a solo home run, singled in the eighth and scored the winning run. Winning pitcher Melanie Dusseault had a double in the eighth and Shannon Doherty belted a three-run homer in the first inning.

Trailing 5-2 after three innings, Salem showed no desire to endure its first softball loss of the young season. The Devils got a clutch three-run triple from junior Sara Bracken to rally past Nashua North, 10-5. Sophomore Nicole Gubellini earned the victory and helped her own cause with three of Salem's 16 hits.

Led by birthday girl Sarah Pierce, Londonderry opened its season with a resounding 12-0 tromp over Nashua North. On her 17th birthday, Pierce was 4 for 4 with a home run, three runs scored and three RBIs. Theresa Zwart hurled a one-hitter and Daniele Crutcher (3 for 3) and Sam Nitso also had home runs (back to back) and sophomore Lindsey Bolduc was 4 for 5.
