Brian Delaney's two-out single in the last of the seventh gave Phillips Academy a thrilling 4-3 win over Worcester Academy and a two-game sweep for the Central New England championships.
Delaney's single scored Will Poss and capped off the win, which turned out to be the second walk-off of the day. In the first game, Phillips scored a thrilling eight-inning 3-2 win over Cushing Acedemy.
The first game ended wehn senior Tom Palleschi doubled home Curtiss Pomeroy for the game-winner. Palleschi went 3 for 4 in the second game. Pomeroy had two hits in the first game.
Rory Ziomek pitched a complete game to earn the win in the championship game He struck out nine and scattered eight hits. Dan Dymecki bettered that performance by one inning in the first game, going eight and allowing just two runs on four hits while strikin out 10.
