300th for Drench

 

 

Phillips Academy softball coach Peter Drench won his 300th and 301st games as the Big Blue swept Phillips Exeter with successive 3-2 decisions to finish their season at15-3. Kayla Maloney was the winner in the first game, striking out 16 despite being shaken up in a home plate collision and Ravenne Nasser picked up the win in the second game, thanks partly to the hitting of Kayla Thompson, who was 3 for 5 on the day.

Phillips moves to finals

Kayla Maloney's two-run home run in the fifth inning of game one highlihted Phillips nine-hit offensive attack. Maloney (3 for 4, two runs scored and two RBIs) also pitched six shutout innings to lead Phillips past Nobles, 6-1, in the opening game of this year’s Big East Tourney.

Maloney hits and pitches Phillips to win

Kayla Maloney went 4 for 4 with four runs scored and three RBIs, leading Phillips Academy to a 15-5 win over Worcester Academy. Maloney also took care business on the mound as she struck out nine and allowed just four hits in the win.

Phillips Exeter beats Phillips for first time since '04

Alexandra Beltrus' long single scored the game's only run as Phillips Exeter walked off with a 1-0 eight-inning victory over Phillips. It was the first time Phillips Exeter had beaten Phillips since 2004.
